About Clinical Affairs
About Clinical
Clinical Affairs supports activities of WCMCQ that deliver or plan to deliver clinical services to patients in Qatar. Most physician faculty of WCMCQ, as at most North American medical schools, are expected to provide at least limited clinical services in an academic environment to patients. This can include inpatient teaching-work rounds, outpatient clinic service with trainees, and clinical research activities of benefit to patients. The primary venue currently available in the State of Qatar include Hamad Medical Corporation hospitals: Hamad General Hospital, Women’s (maternity) Hospital, Rumailah (surgical subspecialty and rehabilitation) Hospital, the Psychiatric Hospital, Al Amal (cancer and haematological disease) Hospital, and the Al Khor Hospital, 40 minutes to the north of WCMCQ. Primary Health Care clinics of the National Health Authority also serve a growing number of outpatients and are the home of Qatar’s current Family Medicine Residency program. Finally, WCMCQ anticipates being the primary academic affiliate of the Sidra Medical and Research Center, a specialty teaching and research hospital to be built across the street from WCMCQ.
