Dr Sheila Qureshi is a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry at WCMC-Q. She received her PhD in Synthetic organic chemistry from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology (now University of Cardiff), and her BSc in Chemistry and Biology from University of London, Goldsmiths College. Her postdoctoral research at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, investigated glycoisidation reactions with neuraminic acid; her later work in chemical industry involved pharmaceutical production, support, and development.
Qualified in education as well as research, she was involved in the development of the pilot Foundation program, supporting both students and faculty. Her teaching continually strives to actively involve students as independent learners.
